Introducing our new Mentorship Program

This summer we are excited to welcome six interns, three in Toronto and three in San Francisco. Omnium is all about continuous learning and innovation. Something we’ve heard over and over from interns in past years is how much they value the relationships that they develop with Omnium staff members during their time with us. This summer we’re incorporating that feedback into our program by more formally pairing each intern with an experienced staff member for mentorship on our CPG revenue growth management practice.

Jasmine Qin recalls getting informal guidance from me, Adam Carter, during her time as an intern and hopes to be able to recreate that experience for Trevor Tidy, a returning intern at our Toronto office. Following her internship in Summer 2020, Jasmine joined Omnium as a full-time data scientist in March 2021 and was promoted to senior data scientist in January 2023. She developed the consumption report that we use for recurring reporting for our clients and says her favorite part about working at Omnium is how supportive the team is of developing new skill sets. Jasmine hopes that she and Trevor will learn from one another while developing the skills he decides to prioritize this summer.

Trevor is excited to have other interns join him in our Toronto office since most of last summer’s intern class were based in San Francisco. He comes from a family of data scientists and says he was inspired to apply to Omnium by his mom’s love of data and computer science. Trevor studies theoretical math at McMaster University and enjoys being introduced to unsolved problems. Lately, he has been working on a program to optimally find g cages – connected webs of nodes in graph theory. His last internship at Omnium provided an opportunity to apply his mathematics background to new skill sets like learning R, and to have input on clients’ million and billion-dollar pricing decisions. This summer he’ll have the opportunity to learn even more with the help of Jasmine and the entire Omnium team.
