Frances Grout
first joined Omnium as a Winter intern and is now continuing her internship into the summer, bringing both experience and leadership to the team. Reporting to Mia, she is currently working on key strategic initiatives for Premier Nutrition, including compiling learnings, building competitive reports, and translating performance data into actionable recommendations. Her work takes distribution into account to inform sell-in stories and innovation pipelines, which helps to prioritize SKUs for retail and guides new product development.
She has also contributed to ad hoc project requests, supported the onboarding of a new client with an introduction to account planning, and is now assisting in onboarding for Talking Rain. Frances is skilled at making data digestible and insights clear, while connecting analytics to commercial outcomes.
She will be mentoring new interns this term, supporting training, and acting as a go-to resource for team knowledge. Her final project last semester involved analyzing sales data to identify out-of-stock patterns, sharpening her ability to draw business-critical insights from raw data.
Adam Mahmoud
is a rising senior at UC Berkeley, double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Data Science. Originally from Wilton, a small town near Sacramento, Adam’s academic journey began in physics before his passion for math led him to a more data-focused path. He’s especially interested in how mathematical thinking and data can inform real-world decisions, which brought him to Omnium and its mission-driven approach to business strategy.
At Omnium, he is eager to explore the practical applications of math in a professional setting, particularly how raw data can be transformed into meaningful business insights. He sees this internship as an opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and action in ways that impact everyday life.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with friends, whether they’re competing in spikeball or pickleball, playing card games, or relaxing at the beach in San Diego (his current home away from Berkeley). He also shares his household with a dog and a brood of chickens.
Cuong Bui
is a recent graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where he double majored in Astrophysics and Physics. A fascination with gravitational waves and other extraordinary phenomena drew him to the sciences, but over time, he came to value the practical skills required in data analysis and machine learning. His curiosity about applying these skills beyond academic science led him to explore industries that rely on large, complex datasets.
He is eager to shift from the cosmic scale of astrophysics to the everyday impact of data-driven decision-making in the CPG industry. He hopes to build a deeper understanding of business frameworks while honing his technical skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Outside the lab and office, Cuong is an accomplished colorguard performer and instructor, having traveled across the U.S. with Drum Corps International to perform for audiences of over 20,000. He also competes in a local pool league and enjoys hiking California’s scenic trails whenever he has the chance.
From our Toronto office: Kaarthick, Aania, and Alexandra.
Kaarthick Rameshkumar
is a fourth-year Statistics major at the University of Waterloo with a strong foundation in mathematical thinking and a growing interest in solving real-world problems with data. Originally drawn to physics, Kaarthick found his academic home in math, ultimately landing on statistics for its blend of rigorous theory and practical relevance.
He joined Omnium to explore how statistical tools can be applied to business challenges. With prior internship experience in Waterloo, he’s especially excited to work in Toronto and gain firsthand exposure to the CPG industry. He’s eager to contribute meaningfully while deepening his understanding of how data shapes strategic decision-making.
Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Kaarthick is a passionate ultimate frisbee player, flutist, and music leader, having spent over a decade in concert bands where he has taken on roles such as conductor and executive. When he’s not cycling through the city or playing in his Toronto intramural league, he enjoys unwinding with friends by playing board games, watching movies, or taking long walks through the city.
Aania Raheem
recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, where she majored in Statistics and minored in Actuarial Science. Originally from Qatar, Aania moved to Canada during the pandemic to attend university, bringing with her a love of math that had been nurtured since childhood. A high school statistics class, along with the discovery of the Galton board, sparked a fascination with the way abstract math principles manifest in the real world. This would eventually set her on a course toward statistical modeling.
She joins the team with a strong foundation in data science from her co-op roles at major retail and transportation companies. She is drawn to the way Omnium blends mathematical rigor with business insight and looks forward to contributing to that balance. She is particularly excited to explore model development and learn more about the CPG industry’s unique data landscape.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Aania is a dedicated reader and writer with a special love for high fantasy literature. She has been writing prose and poetry since she was 12 and balances her creative side with an active lifestyle that includes yoga, hiking, biking, and badminton. On her days off, she enjoys spending quality time with loved ones and recharging with a good book.
Alexandra Bajenaru
is a recent graduate of the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, where she earned a double degree in Honours Mathematics and Business Administration. Originally from Romania and raised in Canada, Alexandra’s academic path was shaped early by her parents, who were both engineers, and enrolled her in math programs from a young age. What began as a childhood routine evolved into a deep passion for analytic thinking and problem-solving, which ultimately led her to pursue a rigorous interdisciplinary education.
At Omnium, she is excited to bring together her strong technical foundation and strategic mindset to help clients solve complex challenges in the CPG space. She is especially interested in applying quantitative methods to real-world data while deepening her understanding of the relationships between manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
Outside of work, Alexandra is a competitive volleyball player who has been active in the sport since the age of 13. She continues to play in adult leagues and tournaments and is committed to fostering inclusive athletic communities, particularly for women. She also enjoys reading fantasy novels, drawing, crocheting, and hosting spirited board game nights with friends.
